Description of nhentai.zip
nhentai.zip, branded as "nZip," is a website that describes itself as a tool for downloading doujinshi - a Japanese term for self-published manga and comics, which frequently include adult or sexually explicit content. The homepage shows a minimalist interface with a search field labeled "The Sauce" (slang commonly used in these communities to refer to source material), along with links to Terms, Privacy, and a DMCA policy, as well as a GitHub repository (nZip-Team/nZip) that appears to host the project's code.
Based on the domain name, page content, and stated purpose, this appears to be an unofficial or fan-operated tool/mirror associated with the broader "nhentai" content-aggregation ecosystem, which is well known for hosting adult manga/doujinshi content. The site appears to be a relatively small, community or hobbyist-run project rather than a large commercial platform, given its lack of a Tranco traffic rank and its simple, developer-style interface.
The site is hosted behind Cloudflare, which handles its DNS, SSL, and bot-mitigation/challenge services (evidenced by the "cdn-cgi/challenge-platform" URLs found among its assets). This suggests the operator uses Cloudflare's proxying and security tooling to protect the origin server and manage traffic.
Safety Assessment for nhentai.zip
At the time of this scan, no security engines out of 91 checked flagged nhentai.zip for malware, phishing, or other malicious content. A separate malware scan of the site's files also returned a clean result, with 0 of 14 scanned files flagged, and none of the site's 14 outbound links or 3 referenced domains were flagged as suspicious.
Threat-database and blacklist checks were also clean across the board, including content-malice-focused lists and reputation databases, and the domain's IP was not listed on any DNS-based blocklists at the time of this scan. The domain is a little over two years old, uses a valid SSL certificate, and is proxied through a major CDN provider, which are generally favorable technical indicators.
It is worth noting that the site's stated purpose - facilitating access to doujinshi content - typically involves adult-oriented material, which is a content-category consideration separate from malware/phishing risk. Based on available scan data, no significant security threats were detected at the time of this scan, though visitors should be aware of the mature nature of the content the site is designed to provide access to.
Technical Description
The site uses a valid SSL/TLS certificate issued by Google Trust Services, valid through December 2026, and is served via Cloudflare, which also provides its nameservers (aldo.ns.cloudflare.com, may.ns.cloudflare.com) and a bot-challenge mechanism visible in the scanned link data. DNSSEC is not enabled for this domain. The site's server infrastructure resolves to a Cloudflare IP address associated with Toronto, Canada, which reflects Cloudflare's edge network rather than necessarily the origin server's true location.
The domain was registered in August 2024 through Spaceship, Inc. and is set to expire in August 2027. No unusual hosting or infrastructure red flags were identified in the scan data.
